Hoyma Festival is an intimate way to perform and enjoy music in the Faroe Islands.
At this music festival, people walk from door to door, on a dark evening to enjoy ten different concerts performed by local artists in ten different private homes. The place is the small and calm village of Syðrugøta located at the end of one of the narrow fjords of the Faroe Islands.
Jón Tyril, one of the organisers, says “It is an anti-festival. There are no stages, no amps, no lighting, no security”.
In the same village, for three days in July, a bigger music festival is celebrated: the G! Festival.
