Hoyma Festival is an intimate way to perform and enjoy music in the Faroe Islands.
At this music festival, people walk from door to door, in a dark winter evening of November, to enjoy 10 different concerts performed by local artists in 10 different private homes. The place is the small and calm village of Syðrugøta located at the end of one of the narrow fjords of the Faroe Islands.
Jón Tyril, one of the organiser, says “It is an anti-festival. There are no stages, no amps, no lighting, no security”.
In the same village, during summer, a bigger music festival is celebrated: the G! Festival.
