G! Festival, the wild music festival of the Faroe Islands

G! Festival is a unique and wild international music festival which is held outdoor in the Faroe Islands.

Every year in July, for 3 days, locals and foreigners meet in the village of Syðrugöta and in its tiny sandy beach placed at the end of one of the fjords of the archipelago.

Several local and international artists performed here on three different stages: Fat Boy Slim, Mø, Rag’n’Bone Man, Harlem Gospel Choir, Specktors, Eivør, Teitur, Marius Ziska, Greta Svabo Bech, Konni Kass, just to mention a few.

People have fun, drink a lot of beers, share food, listen to live concerts, sing, dance, have a good time with friends and family until very late in the the night.

WIRED found G! Festival “authentic and weird. Almost secret. Yet welcoming, friendly and open. Like the Faroes.”

The village of Syðrugöta is also the place of Hoyma Festival, a smaller and more intimate music festival.
